Mira Boutique, Auroville – Readymade Garment Retailers
Mira Boutique is named after Mirra Alfassa, the Mother who was closely associated with Sri Aurobindo.As a matter of fact, this is one of the first shops that you are likely to step into, in Auroville. It is just across the Visitor Center.
Further, it is a fairly large & spacious shop. You are requested to keep you footwear outside the shop.
Children’s Garments in the Mira Boutique shop
Children’s garments- For instance, there is a good collection of frocks , shirts &shorts for children in the age group of 2- 10 years. Colourful bags in the shapes of elephants or a trains are very attractively displayed.
Beautifully designed paper trays and placemats. Trays are very useful items at home. There are some fairly large trays in gold & leaf green colours that are available. A dried leaf or a flower is embossed on the gold coloured paper tray to add a touch of class to it .
Leather bags -Both hard leather and soft leather bags are available. There is a huge selection of bags in a variety of sizes & designs.
Western Wear Dresses
Cotton knitted garments such as tops and stoles in pastel shades are available. There are casual wear stylish throws as well.
Dozens and dozens of western wear dresses such as shirts, skirts ,tops & palazzo pants are available. The fabric is fine cotton or linen. All these garments are manufactured in Auroville. For example, several of the manufacturing units in Auroville work with designers from abroad. The dresses have an international flavor to them. This is by far the largest offering in this shop. There are trial rooms to try the dresses. Further, the palazzo pants in some colourful designs are definitely worth a buy. They are priced in the Rs. 1500- to Rs. 2000/piece The stoles and tops are also simple and elegant.
Home Decor in Pondicherry
Wall lamps and hanging lanterns made from coloured paper. This is a fairly large section. Similarly, lamp shades in pink ,green and red colours look very charming.
Jewellery in Pondicherry
Colourful Jewellery made of beads and thread. In addition, they stock long chains, earrings and bracelets made with colourful threads that makes it an interesting collection.
