Kanjivaram silks in Chennai – Shrinivas Silks

Why are people always shopping in Chennai for silk sarees ? Well, that is because Kanjivaram silk saree (Pattu saree) is known all over the world. Chennai is a popular destination for silk sarees.

Furthermore, Shrinivas Silks is a local favourite for silk sarees in Chennai.

In addition, it is located in a market popularly known as Luz Bazar in the Luz Market area.

Silk sarees in Luz

Luz, originally known as Lutz, was named by the Portuguese. Lutz means light in the Portuguese language. There is a Luz church built by the Portuguese in the luz shopping market.

At first, as you enter the Luz Bazar market, you will notice the shops selling paper plates, cups, baskets, utensils and other knick knacks. Just do not mind the mess and walk straight ahead. As you hit a dead end, you will notice Shrinivas Silks. This is a small shop. Let that not mislead you.

Kanjivaram Silk Sarees

Leave your footwear outside and enter the shop. You can first check out the pure silk sarees. There are two types of Kanjivaram silk sarees. There is a heavy silk saree as well as a soft silk saree. The older generation still prefers the heavy silk sarees. The youngsters prefer the soft silk sarees because soft silk sarees are lighter.

There are Kanjivaram silk sarees with gold zari borders on two sides or gold zari border one side alone . In addition, there are silk sarees without any zari also.

Cotton sarees in Chennai

The varieties of silk, silk cottons and cotton sarees are amazing. You will be captivated by the designs and more importantly by the prices. Rich Kanjivaram silk sarees with real zari borders for less than Rs 10000 a piece are a steal. They stock both traditional and contemporary designs. As the range is reasonable. it gives you the luxury to choose the very best from among the good.

While there are other shops who sell silk sarees, Shrinivas Silks is known for its quality, new designs and reasonable prices .

Shrinivas Silks is very popular with the locals.
