There is an interesting albeit limited collection of sarees in the store. For example, the collection includes Kota sarees with chickan work (from Lucknow) embroidery,Matka and Tussar silk with block prints in geometric designs, georgette and crepe sarees with unique soft prints and Zari borders and bandhini sarees from Rajasthan ,Bishnupuri sarees and Gadwal sarees . Above all, the Kanjivaram sarees and silk cotton sarees that are manufactured in TamilNadu are more prominently displayed . Further, there are Chanderi sarees and Ikkat sarees ,,,,, sarees that are quite distinctive. In addition, saree blouses and blouse materials with embroidery and stone work is available.

If you are not too keen on a sarees ,you can take a look at the cotton ,silk cotton salwar suits with organza dupattas.. There are unstitched salwar suit fabrics as well. They have a fantastic range of fabrics in cotton , Chanderi and Benarsi. Also on display are ikaat skirts ,short tops and jackets .
Shilpi was originally started by Arundhati Menon almost 30 years ago. However, it has new owners now.
