Organic Products and Indian Textiles – Mother Earth
As their name suggests, Mother Earth promotes organic products and Indian textiles and handicrafts, thereby providing livelihoods to rural artisans. They stock garments, accessories, gifts, furniture, home furnishings and food items. Their saris, salwar suits, kurtis, trousers and children’s clothes are made in pure cotton using vegetable dyes.
Funky jewellery from the Delhi based People Tree is a great attraction for the youngsters. The furniture section displays some simple furniture for the dining room, living room and bedroom. Dining table sets cost around Rs 20,000, whereas beds are at Rs. 30,000 per peice, and coffee tables are Rs. 14,000 per piece.
They also stock household items and gifts including corporate gifts. Dhokra art items (metal casting), Kondapalli toys and articles made of the Sanjhi craft of Uttar Pradesh make for an interesting home décor display.
